We do all we can to make sure our people achieve their very best. Our career development focuses on opportunities and plans so everyone who works at Vistry Group can realise their goals and aspirations with the help of their managers. Join us, and you’ll get to train with and learn from our many programmes – and use our very own e-learning platform to develop the skills you feel most passionate about or want to gain. Apprenticeships and professional qualifications are also on offer.

Together we’re on a journey towards success; we have plenty of programmes on offer for every stage of your career. These programmes will support you and feature a blend of approaches. Many make the most of e-learning via our Learning Management System, Vistry Learn, which can be tailored to you whether you work at home, in the office or on-site; whilst some of our programmes are virtual or face-to-face.

Working with the Government Apprenticeship Service and apprenticeship providers across the country, we make sure that learning and support are available for early talent joining the group. We encourage trainees to complete apprenticeships or professional qualifications, and possible subjects to study include Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, Trade apprenticeships and Site Supervision. We also have apprenticeships in Sales, Business Admin and Finance. We’re proud to say that our trainees work across the business in Site Management, Commercial, Technical, Sales, Quantity Surveying, Construction, and Accountancy.

Future and senior leaders gain the insight and skills they need to thrive and be successful. We want our managers and leaders to develop key skills, so we have a bespoke leadership framework called Leading Better Together. We spot potential leaders and support existing leaders to fulfil their potential. The senior leaders’ programme launched in November 2021, and our Future Leaders programme, aimed at our middle, frontline and trainee managers with potential for senior roles, launched in May 2022.

Our people are our greatest asset. Without them, we can’t make Vistry, which is why we invest in mental health first aid training and mentorship schemes. We have trained more than 100 mental health first aiders and continue to spread awareness with training across the business. Our mentoring and reverse mentoring schemes are all about creating and maintaining a coaching culture, so you’ll have the opportunity to adjust your mindset to grow, build trust, increase wellbeing, and build resilience.
